    2017 Summer Team

    Full Time Team

    • Art Weiss

      Executive Director

      Art has served in a variety of camp positions at a couple of camps, including ED, as well as serving as pastor to a couple of ELCA congregations. Art has a background in accounting, preaching, administration, and having a great laugh. You'll hear it when you meet him!

    • Paul Kopjar

      Assistant Director

      Paul has been involved in the Kuriakos community for many years, most recently in his position as Assistant Director. Programming, staffing, marketing, he does it all.

      Have a question? I bet Paul knows the answer.

      Paul is a lifeguard, leadership educator, French-speaker,

      a twin and older brother, and generally great guy.

    • Kendra Freeland

      Program Director

      Kendra has a long history in camp ministry, having worked at 8 other camps before joining our full-time team. Included in that, Kendra served as an intern here at Kuriakos in the fall of 2011. Kendra's passion is to see children, youth and families grow in their faith, and to assist young leaders as they develop. 

    • Madi Alexandriuk

      Registrar and Hospitality Manager

      Madi joined the year-round Kuriakos team in the fall of 2017.

      Moving here from Edmonton, she brings along her husband Nick, Great Grandma Georgette, dog and cat. Before coming to work at Kuriakos Madi worked for three years as Office Manager at a Lutheran Church, she also has her Culinary Arts Diploma and loves to cook and bake and go on adventures!


    • Rudy Lange

      Property Manager

      Rudy is excited to be working at Kuriakos. He’s says it’s a dream job, having worked in maintenance for 20+ years. Rudy previously did maintenance at a campground, and is looking forward to similar aspects of community in his role here, as well as opportunities for ministry within his work. Rudy loves fishing and repairing small engines, and is a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

    • Gail Berg

      Bookkeeper and Housekeeper

      Gail started out as housekeeper 22 years ago, and, after years of involvement in other capacities, has found herself back in her starting (and starring!) role.  We sure appreciate her involvement in this ministry - what a great family to have as neighbours!

    • Melissa Harms (Muf)

      Head Cook

      Muf prepares all sorts of delicious meals, and plans many of our theme events or banquets.

      She's been on the Kuriakos team for 19 summers and counting.
