Kuriakos is in Treaty Six, East of the Rockies, between the Athabasca and Red Deer rivers, on what the Cree call Kinepik, or Snake Lake. We share and care for this land with Indigenous Peoples who were here before us. We are ALL Treaty Six people.  With gratitude and mutual respect, Kuriakos acknowledges that we live, work, play and worship on Treaty 6 lands that are ancestral meeting grounds, gathering places, and travel routes for many First Nations including the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux and Nakota Sioux. We also acknowledge the Metis people of the Red Deer Metis District within the Battle River Territory who call Treaty 6 home. We respect all people who share, celebrate and care for the Treaty 6 territory of central Alberta and we honour the original caretakers of the land who remind us of the ongoing histories that precede us. We also recognize our shared responsibilities going forward to help bring everyone together on this journey of Truth and Reconciliation.
