2026 Kuriakos Women’s Retreat

Come away for a weekend of rest, reflection, connection, and renewal at Kuriakos.

As we prepare for the quieter season of winter, our 2026 Women’s Retreat is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life, spend time in community with other women, and make space to simply slow down, listen, and be.


This year, we are excited to welcome Rev. Jamie Almquist, Pastor of Good Shepherd Moravian Church in Calgary, who will guide us through The Spiritual Gift of Waiting.


Together, we’ll explore what it means to wait—not simply as something to get through, but as an opportunity to listen, reflect, and consider what God might be doing during the waiting seasons of our lives.

Throughout the weekend, there will be a mix of guided group sessions and personal reflection, along with conversation, shared meals, worship, and plenty of opportunities to connect with others or simply enjoy some quiet time at Kuriakos.


Whether you come with friends, women from your church or community, or on your own, you are welcome.


Weekend Schedule


Friday, November 6

7:00 PM — Welcome
7:30 PM — Opening Session

Settle in, meet one another, and begin our weekend together.


Saturday, November 7

8:30 AM — Breakfast
12:30 PM — Lunch
5:30 PM — Supper

Saturday will include sessions with Rev. Jamie Almquist, opportunities for personal reflection, shared meals, conversation, and time to enjoy being at Kuriakos.  A full Saturday schedule will be provided at the retreat.


Sunday, November 8

9:30 AM — Brunch
10:30 AM — Worship Service with Holy Communion

We’ll finish our weekend by gathering together for worship and Holy Communion before heading home.

Cost: $195 per person

Your registration includes:

  • Accommodation for the retreat
  • Meals throughout the weekend
  • Retreat sessions and programming
  • Sunday worship with Holy Communion

Registration must be completed no later than one week before the retreat — October 30, 2026.

Confirmation Retreat 2026

Kuriakos Centre

November 20–22, 2026

Cost: $150 per participant


Take Confirmation Out of the Classroom and Away to Camp at Kuriakos!

Confirmation is about more than learning in a classroom. It’s also about building relationships, asking questions, growing in faith, and discovering what it means to be part of a community.

This weekend gives confirmands the chance to grow in faith, build friendships, and experience the joy of being together at camp.


Alongside dedicated time for Confirmation study, the weekend includes games and activities, campfires, worship, devotions, community care, good food, and plenty of time to relax and have fun.

Kuriakos staff will lead activities throughout the weekend and help create a welcoming, faith-filled environment where young people can ask questions, make connections, and discover that learning about faith can be an experience we share together.


Church leaders will also have dedicated study periods with their own confirmands, giving each congregation time to continue its own Confirmation curriculum while enjoying everything a weekend at camp has to offer.


What’s Included

Your weekend registration includes:

  • Two nights of accommodation at Kuriakos
  • Meals and snacks throughout the weekend
  • Kuriakos-led games and activities
  • Campfire and devotions
  • Worship
  • Time for your congregation’s Confirmation studies
  • Opportunities to connect with confirmands and leaders from other churches

Campers will stay in gender-specific dorms or cabins, with Kuriakos staff and volunteers helping supervise sleeping areas.


Weekend Schedule


Friday, November 20

8:00 PM — Arrival & Check-In

The evening will include introductions, games, a snack, and campfire as everyone settles in and gets to know one another.


Saturday, November 21

Saturday is a full day of Confirmation study periods, Kuriakos-led activities, meals, games, community care, campfire, and plenty of opportunities to connect, relax, and have fun together.


Sunday, November 22

We’ll pack up, enjoy brunch, and gather together for Worship with Remembrance of Baptism before saying farewell at 12:00 PM.


Registration


Cost: $150 per participant

Congregations may choose to subsidize some or all of the registration cost for their confirmands and leaders. Each confirmand and leader will need to register for the retreat.


Registration must be completed no later than one week before the retreat — November 13, 2026.
