Leadership Development

At Kuriakos, our Leadership Development programs help youth grow in confidence, teamwork, communication, and servant leadership — skills that matter at camp, at school, at church, and in life.

Whether you’re just beginning your leadership journey or ready for greater responsibility, there’s a place for you here.

Leadership Programs

Our Leadership Development programs are designed to help youth grow in confidence, responsibility, and servant leadership while being part of the Kuriakos community. Whether you’re taking your first step into leadership or ready for a greater role, each program offers meaningful training, mentorship, and hands-on experience serving campers and supporting camp life. Explore the options below to find the best fit for you.

Who it’s for: Ages 14–16 (completed grade 9)

Overview: SITs serve across camp to learn what service and leadership look like in real life. You’ll help with activities, kitchen, maintenance, arts, and support roles — all with training, community, and reflection.

APPLY TO SIT

Servant-in-Training (SIT)

Age 14-16+

SITs assist in multiple areas — activities, arts, kitchen, and maintenance. You’ll help with tasks like dishes, planning camper games, cleaning, and special projects. Daily meetings include training, discipleship, fun, and community building. SITs must be at least 14 years old and have completed grade 9. Older applicants are welcome

First Time SITs are required to attend our one week Leaders In Training (LIT) Camp (see above). Returning SITs are encouraged to attend as well.

STAND Program

age 16-18+

STANDs live, lead, and work with a cabin group, supporting their campers and assisting staff. The program focuses on Serving, Training, Achieving, Nourishing, and Developing - helping participants grow personally and as leaders. STANDS must be at least 16 years old and completed grade 11.

First Time STANDs (who have never been a SIT) are required to attend our one week Leaders In Training (LIT) Camp (see above). Returning STANDs are encouraged to attend as well.

Leaders-in-Training (LIT)

A leadership-focused week where youth learn leadership skills, take part in group challenges, earn certifications, and enjoy camp life while preparing for service roles. LIT is designed for youth ages 14–18 and can be free if you’re also registered for another summer program.
