Planning for Summer 2021

To ensure the safety of our campers, staff, and volunteers, new procedures are in place for our programs and we continue to make adjustments as necessary.

Please give us a call. We're happy to answer any questions you may have.

We continue to believe in the life-changing power of camp and feel that camp is more needed now than ever.

Programs will only proceed when we are confident that we can do so safely, but we are planning for a great summer!

Review our proposed Procedures for Summer 2021

Kuriakos and Covid-19

Kuriakos looks different this year... But great things are still happening!

For the past 90 years, Kuriakos has been built on our values of Belonging, Growth, and Togetherness. And our community is actively preparing for the next 90!

Throughout our history, we have experienced ups and downs (like the summer of 1943, when we only hosted 1 week of programs due to the War). However, it is during these times that we recognize how important this community is to each other. We know that God continues to have great things in store for us.

We still believe in the life-changing power of camp, and are working hard to provide connection opportunities to our Kuriakos Community.

We will provide updates and review program offerings as the situation progresses.

We hope that you are staying healthy during this challenging time, and staying connected through phone calls and virtual options to the communities you participate in.

We're still here for you!

We are committed to maintaining connections with our community and supporting each other throughout this summer and year.

  • Per the Alberta government’s restrictions for gatherings and events, Kuriakos' facilities are temporarily closed to guests.
  • Kuriakos committees and staff have been hard at work thinking and praying through this complex situation.

Kuriakos’ on-site programs will resume when:

  • It is decided by authorities that is safe to do so.
  • Kuriakos determines we can safely have guests and campers onsite.
  • Kuriakos can financially provide a safe and quality experience.

Kuriakos is grateful for the prayerful and financial support that you and your congregation are able to provide at this extraordinary time.

Thank you to all our wonderful friends! We are encouraged that Kuriakos is not the facility; it's our community. Kuriakos happens whenever, wherever, and however we gather.

5. My question isn’t answered here. Who can I call?

You are always welcome to call the camp office at 403.746.2702 or to email

Read our May 7 Letter

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden."

Matthew 4:15

These are dark times. To comply with government requirements, Kuriakos’ Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to suspend our planned on-site camp programs, retreats, and rental group activities.

But the light of Kuriakos will not be extinguished. The Board is listening carefully to how God is calling us to be light to the world this summer. The ministry of Kuriakos will continue — though we aren’t yet sure exactly what it will look like. Our summer staff have been training online with the knowledge that their service this summer will be different than it would in a regular year.

Social distance is important. Spiritual connectedness is crucial to helping us all during these difficult days! Stay connected with your faith community and with Kuriakos during this time.

As we know from Psalm 46, God is our refuge and strength. In times of uncertainty and anxiety, we know we can talk with one another and with God about our situations. We pray for God's work through each person to care for one another, pray for one another, and live in grace and peace each day.
